The world has seen hundreds of sports cars that thrilled us to the core but soon became obsolete. However, some of them didn’t lose their value with time. In fact, they grew more amazing and more valuable.
Here is a list of 10 such super sports cars.
Lamborghini Miura
It was the first exotic sports car ever made. Being the fastest car in late 1960s, it won many hearts and awards with its superior V12 engine. It is remembered for its mid-engine designs that gave it the raw power needed to boast the status of a sports car.
Ferrari 250 GTO
Only 39 units were produced in the early 1960’s that automatically make it the most classified sports car of its era. Its ability to hold the track at super speeds made it a favourite among racers and the fans of the sport.
Jaguar E Type
Enzo Ferrari complimented it as the most beautiful car ever made. The car is often remembered for its clean and purposeful lines that set it apart from other racing cars that had a long nose and short deck.
Acura NSX
This car singlehandedly destroyed the monopoly of Europe in sports car creation. The Japanese car had a distinctive design, a V6 midengined that made Porsche and Ferrari face tough competition in international market.
Dodge Viper
The car experienced worldwide popularity for two decades until its production ended in 2010. It was bold and had an unapologetic vibe in its design with a 400-hp V10 engine. Nobody knew that it would change the outlook of a whole generation about owning a sports car.
Shelby Cobra
The car was a combination of a small British sports car with a heavy American V8 engine. It is one of the most recognisable cars till date as it beat Ferrari once on a world racing stage.
Mazda MX-5 Miata
It is the highest selling two seat convertible sports car ever made although it was not the hot favourite in its initial days. The car was not costly yet it crated the thrilling experience one had in a top end sports car.
Mercedes-Benz SL
It was the first car that crossed the mark of 160 miles per hour. Being the first car to offer fuel injection gave it instant popularity among car lovers and critics. It has been a symbol of class, luxury and performance since it first appeared in 1954.
Chevrolet Corvette
The car has been in production since the last 60 years and reflects everything one expects from an American made sports car. The car was inexpensive and changed the whole idea of spending a large sum of money to own power and beauty.
Porsche 911
The car has seen very little changes since it first arrived in 1963. Even after having some engineering defects it has superior performance over most of the cars seen till date. Every sports car is compared with Porsche 911 to determine its quality.
We are still waiting for a car that can change this list but until then these are the best sports car ever made. Which one did you like the most? Let us know in the comments below.
